Thanks for that Borderer, great to see the Quaich pop it's shiny face up. Looks as if you have some great places for it to visit over there. Cheers

Amazing...
That residential photo looks like the married patch at Dodesheide Osnabrück.
Nice to see the Quaich making the rounds in Germany.

Re: Dresden, Saxony greets the Quaich
A meeting on Saturday was cancelled at the last minute, so I decided to take some pictures.
Frauenkirche 1970's, kept as a silent monument by the GDR against war.
Not bombed but damaged by embers from a nearby building which flew into the Church.
Frauenkirche 2011- Built with Funds fron the Dresden Trust subscribed to by Britain and USA, amongst others.
The Golden Cross is a copy of the original which was found in the rubble in 1995.
It was produced by Alan Smith, son of a RAF bomber pilot who took part in the raids on Dresden
Interesting to note that a city ordinance stipulated that the area around the Frauenkirche be built
as it was before the war.
MS Meissen, one of 13 paddle steamers still sailing on the Elbe today.
The Yenidse
It is not a Mosque but was a Cigarette Factory designed on a whim from the owner. It is now a Theatre
and Restuarant. The Dome is lit up at night from inside.

Superb... I really enjoyed the times I lived in Germany (10 years in total). I look back on it with great fondness. Didn't do much on the Eastern side although I've been to Berlin a couple of times as well as Magdeburg, Potsdam, Leipzig and Colditz. There's a good museum to the former DDR near Erfurt as I recall. Never been to Dresden though, I must put that right sometime. Thanks for sharing these pictures. Kagelbahn is always a good laugh. Not that I took it very seriously.

Re: Dresden, Saxony greets the Quaich
Once again a fine brisk sunny day and a chance to take the Quaich for a short trip to Radebeul, which is just outside Dresden. There were 2 destinations, the first being the Karl May Museum. Karl May has written many adventure books dealing with the Old West, the Indian nations and the Orient. He introduced us to Old Shatterhand and Winnetou. Believe it or not he never visited any of the countries in his books. The Museum is in the original house which he bought. Known as "Villa Shatterhand.
We toured the Museum with the Director and he did not get out of drinking from the Quaich.

The Guardians in the Garden
Every year in May the Museum hosts a Karl May Festival duration 3 days
following photos were taken at the Western breakfast, where you can buy Bison sausages.
