Interesting Dirks: Has Anyone Seen These Before?
As I have been pondering the though of buying a dirk, lately, I was wondering what the "Great Rabble" had to say about this one. I think it's simple, classy, and somewhat elegant. (Not to forget mentioning rather inexpensive!)

He has some interesting relatives, too:

Kinda neat, eh?

Those are good prices. From what I can see (and common advertising practice) VAT is included. So all US sales would have 20% deducted from those prices right at the start. Making them all even more attractive.

I've seen some of these dirks in person. The prices for the most part seem very reasonable, but the one from Windlass is way overpriced, in my opinion.

Are you considering purchasing this for reenactments, piping, or formal dress?

My intentions are to use the first one I posted a link to for both piping and formal dress. I like the look of a traditional dirk, with its fancy stone embezzlements and such, but I'm fourteen and don't really have $975 to go tossing around at a floppy sharp thing.

I like the first one best. It is, to my knowledge, quite traditional officer's dirk design. If it is good quality then it is a great deal at that price.

I'm definitely getting the first one. The others wouldn't look as nice along with No. 1 dress; however, that being said, I'm still quite a bit away from completing No. 1 dress...

Yes I believe those are made in India, and the quality (I think) is pretty good. I've handled a number of Indian-made reproduction swords, and I have a Claymore, and they're well made.
I like that dirk because it's a classic fairly early simple design, I would guess of the sort worn c1800. Not the classic 18th century dirk, nor the High Victorian dirk with cast silver fitments, but in between. My only quibble is that the small knife and fork look a bit too narrow to be in the ordinary proportion with the rest. Actually the knife handle is a bit small too, but not as much.
I'm thinking about getting one myself!
