I expect the handle has a good feel to the hand (shape to fit in a palm). My math tells me there are 5 inches of bone. That would almost bump the bottom of my kilt unless tucked a bit lower in my hose. Is there an ornament in the pommel? It looks like there would be a perfect "bowl" to receive a stone.

I like it and am glad you found a source to have one made if you choose.

Finally finished the scabbard ... made of wood (poplar) ... cut my blank, then sawed it in half, laid out the blade outline then hollowed it, leaving just enough wood to keep the blade tight .. shaped, stained, 5 coats of satin varnish ... feels really good in place on my leg ...
