New sgian dubh by Ullapool Box Creations
I've been searching for a functional sgian dubh that was both high quality and distinctive. I was really wanting something to span the gap from day wear to dressy but non-formal evening wear. Lately I came across Ullapool Box Creations on Etsy and had to pull the trigger on this one. It's Scottish stag and African Blackwood with a sharpened pattern welded ("Damascus") blade in 15N20 steel. It came from Scotland to my door in a week along with a stag antler kilt pin I ordered. The maker even threw in a really nice compass and thermometer keychain that he made as a gift. The handle looks more bone colored in the pictures than it is in real life. It's more of a grey color.

I love this little knife. It'll look sharp and function well if called to. With a little honing it will be razor sharp. It's very lightweight but feels great in the hand. I love that it is distinctive and rustic, but has a great look about it. I couldn't be happier.
Here it is with my recently purchased fur hunting sporran from USA Kilts:

Very attractive. I've always been a fan of the Damascus appearance (and an even bigger fan of the real deal).
