I'm not a fan of these colourised photos.
There was a thread a while back about a number of WWI-era photos recently colourised.
As I pointed out then, the sporran-colours were incorrect: they depicted black sporrans as being dark brown. Actually the black sporrans of the Argylls and the Camerons are black.
This photo, of the 72nd Highlanders, is one of the "Crimean Heroes" series IIRC. Their facing-colour was yellow, as can be seen in several contemporary paintings, not blue.
They did do a pretty good job of rendering the tartan (Prince Charles Edward Stuart).
