60th Annual Spokane Highland Games
This Saturday, August 6th, is the 60th annual Spokane Highland Games. I administer the piping, drumming, and pipeband competitions, as well as the piping demonstrations and the massed bands. If you looking for a fun, well-run (from my perspective) Games, with something for everyone, stop by on Saturday, beginning at 10 AM. The weathermen are promising temps in the upper 70's, lower 80's F--a more pleasant alternatives than some of the triple digit days we have had in the past. The Games have it all: dancers, harpers, story-tellers, the heavy athletics, haggis tasting (a freebie!), Heilan' coo's, beer garden, heritage events, British sports cars on display (some even run), music, tug-o-war, and, of course, pipes and drums. Say 'hi' if you get a chance. I will be the fellow herding the cats (err, pipers) up to the line for the competitions and massed bands. See you at the Games!

Enjoyed meeting Blupiper at the games, and look forward to next year.
It was interesting to eavesdrop on the conversation between the piper coordinator and a couple of others. Thanks for letting me!
