Anyone going down to the Caledonian Games this weekend? I am going to be there for the piping competition and maybe take a hand at the caber, as well. The Games, for those who have never been, are held in Athena, Oregon, which is in the northeast part of the state. The first games were held over 100 years ago and they have been held, on and off, since then. A small games, they have piping and drumming, Highland dancing, heavy athletics and sheepdog trials. There is also musical entertainment, storytelling, clan tents, a parade, golf tourney and fun run. It all takes place in the city park under the huge shade trees. I will try to get some pictures while I'm there. So, anyone going to join me?
