Austin area Ren-Faire in Febuary
I'd like to let the Texas rabble about the second annual Sherwood Forest Faire in the Austin area, It's 2011 opening weekend is coming up on 2/19/2011.
http://sherwoodforestfaire.com/
Sherwood Forest Faire is located near Paige Texas, about 35 miles east of Austin on US Hwy 290. The grounds cover 105 nicely wooded acres, with about 25 acres for the actual faire village area. Sherwood has a "medieval" theme, the faire is set around the year 1189, the time of Richard the Lionheart and Robin Hood and his Merry Men.
This faire has been the result of lots of hard work and dedication on the part of a lot of folks in the Texas faire community, and while last years first season was amazing, I think this year will be even more-so!
I hope you can check it out if you are in the area.
I'll be there for opening day, hope to see ya'

I'm considering it. (Are you and wife going to the Mucky Duck for St. Patrick's Day?)

St. Patrick's Day ! Planning ahead are we? I've already put in for the day off!
We got invited to the Mucky Duck by some of the faire clan, but I was gonna see what else was happening because I have some 'history' with the Mucky's owner, etc.... On the other hand I see that Circa Paleo is playing, so I guess I'll see you there!

I'm taking the day off, too. I'll be there first thing at 11:00am.

A gaggle of my Austin friends will be there, and have been talking it up, so I may try to come for at least one day. Hard to believe perhaps, but I have never been to a Ren Faire!

If any Xmarkers are going to Sherwood this Saturday, (2/19) If you see the parade go by, follow it! The R/F.com forum is having a gathering at the Seven Sisters stone circle on directly following the parade, and since a few of us are members of both forums, all Xmarkers are invited.
See ya' there!

Not sure which weekend I will get there but Amy and I have plans to check it out.
Unfortunately it won't be the next couple weeks as we have a trip to NOLA next weekend (taking up funds for travel) and the NTIF the following weekend.
Sorry I will miss R/F parade.
