Bearsden & Milngavie Games /Ardrossan Games
Hi all, just to say I'll be competing this weekend at the Bearsden Games just north of Glasgow, on Saturday, then the Ardrossan Games (west coast, just south of Glasgow) on Sunday.
Wish me luck, and if anybody gets to the Games, come say hello!

I went to watch the games in Bearsden long ago with my Uncle Archie. He was really a cousin by marriage, and has long since passed on. He wore his kilt (some sort of weathered or muted tartan) and carried a hip flask of whisky. I was amazed at the sight of telegraph poles being thrown. That was so long ago. I won't be there in person to cheer you on, but I wish you luck.

Good luck.
I used to play rugby at Bearsden so used to know the area (pubs) quite well.

Hope you enjoy and do well.
And hopefully you know how to pronounce Milngavie correctly!

I gather (thankfully before getting there) that it's pronounced "Mull-guy"... is that right?

I was going to ask which perfectly good letters get ignored and which invisible ones get added. . . thanks for the clue, Sue, and good luck!
