General Highland Games question, plus Stone Mountain, GA Highland Games 2015
I am quite interested in attending the Stone Mountain Highland Games, Oct 16-18 2015. Has anyone else attended, or is anyone else planning to attend?
As for my general question, how do the Clan tents work, in general? I have ties to the Buchanan Clan, so would I be welcome to that tent? Or is that sort of thing only for Clan Society members?

Wareyin, I have no ties to any clan, and I`ve always been welcome at any clan tent I`ve ever visited. Those of Scottish blood are nothing if not hospitable. I`m sure the Buchanons would love to see you, and maybe even help you with the Watson / Buchanon connection. I believe Stone Mountain is one of the biggest games in the country, and I know there will be many Xmarkers there. Have fun!

Mt Beloved and I went last year for our first time, (drove down from NC) and had a great time. Thinking of doing so again this year.

Yes the Clan Tent people are the nicest, most hospitable people!
Invariably I've been invited to have a chat, a seat, a dram...
Stone Mountain are wonderful Games. I've only attended them once, but it was memorable.
Have a great time!

The Stone Mountain Games are a great games. The Clan Village is in a wooded section along winding pathways and is one of the nicer ones in the country. The Convenor for the Clan Buchanan is Terry Buchanan a good friend of mine and all are welcome. He will greet you like a cousin so visit the tent by all means. It is easy to spot as he has recreated a castle as his tent which is very cool.
So go, wear your tartan and be sure to visit the tent.

My wife and grandson (3 yes old) went last year and had a great time. My grandson particularly liked the tent with the sword in the stone. He pulled it out and they gentleman in the tent had to convince him he could not keep it. I have a great picture of both of them holding onto the sword an not wanting to letting go.
BTW: There is usually a Xmarks meet-up in Conyers on Friday and a picture on Saturday at the Tartan museum tent at noon.
