Glasgow (Kentucky) Highland Games, June 1-3, 2012
Will any of the rabble be at the Glasgow Highland Games in (now just under) a couple of weeks?
I will be there for the first time in several years and am hoping to visit with John (EagleJCS) and meet Sandy (JSFMACLJR). I'd love to meet any of the others of you who will be there.

I'll be down in the P&D area most of the day Saturday. It's going to be a small field (minimal contest for solos & bands). Only 5 bands this year (2 gr 5, 3 gr 4). We should be done by 15:30 or so.
I haven't decided yet if I'll be going to the Tartan Ball that night or going back down to the main field for the rock concert.

Kenneth, I was hoping to make it this year but alas have to carry the pager for backup call for the weekend, thus need to remain within 30 minutes of my hospital. Last I checked Glasgow was closer to two hours for me, drat. Missed John at the Kentucky Scottish Weekend and haven't seen he or Sandy in a couple months.
Y'all have fun now.

I'm planning to be there on Saturday. No particular spot... just wandering 'round. I won't be kilted, but should be wearing khaki tactical pants and a black or navy polo shirt with a gold embroidered shield similar to my avatar. Any and all are welcome to introduce themselves and chat.

My wife and I will be there Saturday. My banner will be flying at the Clan MacLean tent, so I may be found there or the Society of Scottish Armigers tent if they have one.

Leaving for Glasgow/Barren River in 6?!? hours! Setting up for the Pipe & Drum contest on Saturday. Solo events start at 9AM. Band contest starts at 2PM.
Everything P&D should be over & done with by 3PM, including the awards ceremony, which will take place in the band contest circle immediately after the last band is finished playing.

In the past I've only ever been in the pipe band area at the Glasgow games, venturing up to the main field solely for the massed bands. This year, however, I'll be at the breakfast on Saturday morning and then wandering around to get the lay of the land, then participating in the opening ceremonies at noon. Feel free to say hello if you see me; I'll do the same. From 2-3, I'll be watching the pipe band competition - nice and shady down there!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to visit more, Kenneth. As you know, Rick likes to socialize while other people do the 'hands-on' work.
I'll be posting the band contest results over on Dunsire shortly. (I'm not at home at the mo'.)
