I'll be there with the Louisville Pipe Band for the pipe band competition and performances on Saturday. With all of the time spent tuning and performing, there won't be a lot of time for socializing. (As Pipe Sergeant of the band, I also have to run herd on everyone to corral them when they're supposed to be there to tune, etc.).
I believe you'll enjoy yourself. The 'upper field' (the one you see when you enter the gates) is where most of the action takes place and where the clan tents can be found. The 'lower field' tends to be where the Ren Faire and re-enactment vendors get staged.

I hope everyone enjoyed their day at the Games. It was a great day to be out. (A bit warm in the direct sun, but the breezes were marvelous).
The Louisville Pipe Band certainly enjoyed the day! In addition to it being the first massed bands and competition for a couple of our pipers and one of our snares, we wound up taking first place in the band competition!
The other bands were
2nd place: Northern Arkansas Caledonian Pipes and Drums
3rd place: Wolf River Pipes and Drums (Memphis, TN)
and three others:
Knoxville Pipes and Drums
17th Lancers Pipe Band (the competition arm of the Tennessee Scots Pipe Band)
Celtic Eagle Pipe Band (Akron, OH)
Sorry, I was too busy with the band stuff to be taking pics, but I know there were several people taking both pics and video (I nearly ran into someone taking video while the band was on the move).

I was caught up at one of the booths at 2:00 and missed seeing you guys - Louisville pipe band, that is - play. I think Wolf River or Knoxville were playing whenever I got there - whichever went on second. I really enjoyed the style of this pipe band competition though - being more about the entertainment aspect for the crowd rather than strictly performance skill.
I got some pictures and video of some of the pipe bands and massed band that I'll try to get up some time tomorrow - too tired to do so at the moment.
