Hand Woven Garters at Santa Cruz Games
Hey all,
My friend Annie will have a booth at the Santa Cruz festival, first weekend in October. She's been working hard on making hand woven garters so she'll have plenty to sell.
Even more exciting is her banner for the show. If you go, take a look and see if you can identify those legs! Yup, she's using a picture of Farlander wearing the hose I knitted for him and modeling her garters.
Check out her blog at http://www.aspinnerweaver.blogspot.com/ for more info and photos of the garters.

There was an earlier thread about another weaver working up garters. My question there, and here, is about the "give" or lack thereof. Is there any elasticity? If not, does that create any issues?
The straps are gorgeous and I really like her other work. Just wondering about the suitability for this specific application.

Those are beautiful!
I won't make it to Santa Cruz. How can I order a pair (or 2)?

I made pair of garters out of some scrap from my kilt. I sewed them in a tube and fringed the ends. I just tied them on and wore them all day at the Highland Games yesterday. No problems. Much more comfortable than elastic.

Annie's garters are tightly woven and don't have very much stretch. Farlander says they're more comfortable than elastic flashes which dig into his legs.
Garters can be bought on Annie's Etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5953790
