Highland Games in Livonia, Michigan - Aug 2nd - 3rd

For those in the midwest U.S. headed for the Detroit area this weekend, I'll be at The Games on Saturday (arriving around noon.) The weather is expected to be perfect. I had a great time last year, ending the evening by having dinner with some folks from the Clan Buchanan Society. I'll be wearing my Buchanan Hunting Ancient. I should be easy to spot. Feel free to say hello!

I don't think I saw you, Ken. I saw a family in Buchanan around the dance tent, but none of them were wearing the hunting variation.

It was a day with nice weather! The only low point was that none of the vendors who sell the "Got Scotch?" shirts had them in my size.

I spent about 4.5 hours there, and mainly watched the athletic events and some of the tug-o-war, though I did hit the beer tent a couple times and browsed some of the vendor tents to see if there were any kilt pins or buckles that caught my eye. I did spend about an hour chatting at the Buchanan tent on Clan Row, but likewise, I don't know that I spotted any Xmarkers throughout the day. It was beautiful weather, and I enjoyed myself. I arrived around 10:30AM and headed back to Ohio before 3:00PM.
