I finally got my Loon Mountain pictures uploaded. It was a fantastic three days and the venue could not have been more beautiful. So without further ado, here are my pictures from the 2008 New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain (Lincoln, NH)… Sorry if the pictures are too big. Outside the Governor’s Lodge opening day Sheepdog trials Nicole really liked this woman’s sheep earrings Nicole and I took the gondola to the top of Loon mountain to do some sight seeing

More pics… It was gorgeous at the top This seemed like a sort of mountain church Mountain Lake
More pics… We hiked to the glacial caves at the top of the mountain. The resort built wooden walkways to make it easier for people to explore the caves My kilt and waistcoat proved surprisingly comfortable for squeezing through the rocks. Nicole relaxing at the summit bar It was nice to get away from the crowd for a while
More pics… Came across this old cabin at the summit The ride back down to reality …and into the crowd Prydein in the main concert tent
More pics… Albannach performing on the parade ground. We saw them perform at least three times during the festival I’m thinking a kilt don’t but this guy seemed to pull it off better than most Vendor village east (yes, there were two vendor villages) The local cops were all kilted and all splendidly turned out The clan parade on the morning of day two Check out this huge gavel
More pics… The gathering of the clans The horn the man is raising is 1,000 years old but it still works like new The event staff The waffle cabin. I wish I had one of these in my back yard. The living history village

More pics… The Octagon Lodge Inside the Octagon Lodge the Brigadoons put on a great show The Mohawk Valley Frasers competed I got to say hi to Barb Tewksbury but she was so busy competing she had very little time to socialize

More pics… The games were held at the base of the mountain outside the Governor’s Lodge. Dave Barron tossing the caber. He shares my last name and was wearing a Rose tartan kilt so naturally I was rooting for him. This was a first for me…a guy wearing a polar fleece kilt At the main concert tent I caught the Glengarry Bhoys
More pics… Good idea if you’ve got a bunch of old snowboards lying around I tried on a New Hampshire tartan kilt. It was not flattering Crossing the bridge on the morning of the third (and final) day of the games I saw a rainbow even though there was no rain in sight I ran into Stephen (hope I got that right) outside the main concert tent Taking a much needed break from all the walking Saw a couple of Isle Of Skye kilts on two of the pipe band judges This wee lad was wildly fending off the Sassenach with the targe he had made in the youth tent We made our way over to the Octagon Lodge to check out the fiddle rally
