Minnesota Tartan Week: The Schedule
For those in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, I thought I would pass along the finalized schedule of events for this year's Minnesota Tartan Week.
Tartan Day Party – Get Your Tartan On!
Program & Ceilidh. Come for food and meet up with friends to celebrate Scotland’s contribution to the US!
When: Friday, April 6, 5pm – 10pm
Where: O'Gara's, 164 Snelling Ave, St Paul, MN
Scottish Ramble – There Can Be Only One (Our Last One)
After 30+ years the annual cultural event featuring music, dance, history and merchandise will come to an end with this year's Ramble.
When: Saturday, April 7, 11am – 5pm
Where: Landmark Center, 75 W 5th St, St Paul
Kirkin’ O’ the Tartans (Blessing of the Tartans)
The "Kirkin' O' the Tartan," is a prayer service witha blessing for family tartans, a piper or two and grand pipe organ."Kirkin'" from the Scottish Gaelic word kirk which means church emphasizes the heritage and the connection to how God has blessed us and our ancestors
When: Sunday, April 8, 2pm – 3pm
Where: Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, 519 Oak Grove St, Minneapolis
Pub Sing and Jam Session
Open stage for dancers, pipers, other instrumentalists, and singers; soloists and ensembles; to take turns leading as we like, for the rest of the house to accompany as we may.
When: Tuesday, April 10, 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Where: Merlins Rest Pub, 3601 E Lake St, Minneapolis
Tartan Week Scotch Tasting
The Scottish American Center will host a whisky tasting at vomFASS in the Mall of America.
When: Thursday, April 12, 6pm – 8:30pm
Where: vomFASS at Mall of America, 345 North Garden, Bloomington
TARTAN ROCKS! Tempest's 30th Anniversary Spring Tour & CD Release Concert
Featuring: TEMPEST and The Northerly Gales.
Celtic Rock is tartan woven into music.
When: Friday, April 13, 7pm – 11:30pm
Where: The Hook and Ladder Theater & Lounge, 3010 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis

Most of the week's events are coordinated by the Tartan Week Committee of theScottish American Center.
It's more tartan than you can squeeze into just one day!
