Ohio Renaissance Festival Highland Weekend, October 6-7
This Ren Fair goes on all summer. This year there's a Highland weekend. Clan MacTavish has been invited to host a clan tent. I'll be there. The "village" is outside of Waynesville, not far from Cincinnati and Dayton, close to Caesar Creek State Park.

Hopeing work doesn't trip me up. The wife and I are planning on being there that Saturday. Had a great time the last 2 years and it is where my wife bought me my first kilt 2 years ago.

I know a few folks that set up booths there and I try to make it down each year. I'll see if I can swing by that weekend. If I do I'll be the guy in the kilt with a giant turkey leg in his hand. You think that'll make me easy to spot? ;)

I glanced at the long-range forecast for next weekend. It looks like a great one so far, weather-wise. 40s in the morning to 60s in the afternoon and no mention of rain. I'm working like a madman to try to finish a charcoal tweed jacket and waistcoat, linen shirt with a stand collar and a linen cravat in time for the festivities. Our Clan Tent will be right in the center of the village next to the jousting lists.

Shirt is nearly done. Don't know if the jacket will make the deadline. Waiting on staghorn buttons. TWC is now saying high in the 50s Sunday. I'll need to keep movin'!

A few years back Santa Wally and I traveled down and it was a wonderful time. Can't make it this year so here's wishing you good weather.

Thanks. Wish you could make it. Going to Indy?
They have the clan tents slated for the middle of the village, right beside the jousting lists, so it should be fun.

David,
I was just informed that we will be attending this event on Saturday, October 6. Stephanie's cousins, the actor and writer, Thomas Lennon (of Reno 911, The Dark Knight Rises, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Night at The Museum, Memento, I love You Man, etc, fame) and his wife, actress Jenny Lennon (of Bull Durham fame) are in town from LA this weekend and would like to attend the faire. So, Stephanie and I, and her family will be present! Unfortunately, we will not be attending the Indianapolis Games next weekend, but I am sure we can have a proper chat this Saturday! Looking forward to seeing you again, David. Will Mark Stephenson be present at the Clan MacTavish tent? I typically do not attend Ren Faires, so it will be interesting indeed. At least they are selling Guiness and Smithwicks! Hahaha! See you soon!
Cheers,

Weather looks pretty grim for tomorrow (Saturday) but a little better for Sunday. Mark, Carol and I will make a decision later today on whether to set up the tent on either day or both. Hoping for the best. It would be very nice to see you and Steph.

I just checked the weather, yep. They are calling for AM showers and a 50% chance of showers the rest of the day. Hmmm...not sure if the Lennon's and Robertson's (Steph's family) are aware of this and if so, still want to go. I suppose I'll hear the final word tomorrow. I have no idea what the time-frame will be for our arrival, as it's a wee bit out of my hands. Let's stay in touch via social media. Hope to see the MacTavish clan soon!
Cheers,
