It was fairly warm early in the afternoon, but it cooled off awfully quick when the sun went behind the cliffs to the west of town. It was a great venue for the games and a very good first effort. I hope it continues to get bigger and better each year.

No trip to Moab is complete with out a visit to Utah's Iconic Delicate arch. Deep inside Arches national park There was no way I could come down here and not take the time to hike in to see this old friend.

You're absolutely right Matty; gotta go to Arches anytime I'm in town. BTW, they've already announced the dates for next year, and it'll be at the same venue. Here are a couple of my pics of your old friend--sorry, no kilt in these shots.

Matty,
It was very nice to see you at the Moab Scots on the Rocks Festival. Yes, the weather was pretty good and the turn out was quite good. When I took my wife shopping in town, folks when stopping me and asking me why there were so many kilted men in the area. After explaining that there was a Scottish Festival south of town, a lot of them headed in that direction. I am planning on going to the next festival next year.
Yes, Moab and the surrounding area is an amazing place. If I had a dollar from every time I have been there I would be very rich. That's because
my father and grandfather and grandmother lived in this part of the world, starting in the 1940's. I still have an uncle that lives in Moab and he has shown me places where the tourist don't go.
Thanks for the pictures. The backgrounds of your pictures showing the mountains and red rock hills and cliffs tell a story that only I know. There isn't enough space here to do that but hopefully I would like to tell it to anyone that would like to listen.
BTW, I have been wearing my kilts in Moab since 2006.

Thanks BK
I was so impressed with the Moab show I have volunteered to join the staff for next year. I hope some time to hear some of those stories.

Great pics! Having spent a couple of days in Moab this Oct. for the 1st time, I agree that it is a special place. It will be even more special once the UMTRA project is completed.
Hope to make it to the Scots on the Rocks in the future.

Matty,
You can count on me being there next year. I may volunteer also.
