Tomorrow 19th May at the beautiful Levengrove Park in Dumbarton, the Scottish Pipe Band Championship takes place. Thankfully the weather forecast is for a dry day as the weather has been cold and wet all week in Dumbarton. Last year was a total washout, raining all day. So lets hope for a successful and dry championship tomorrow. Its worth going to and the event is free with Dumbarton Castle as a backcloth and the park bordering the widening Firth of Clyde.
The weather remained dry for the duration of the day with the Earl Montgomery Pipe Band retaining the championship. Here are some pics of the day and the following day touring Argyllshire First pic is of the Deeside Caledonian from Aberdeen One of the vendors on site had a novel way of natural wastage disposal Next up is the Quinn Memorial Band from Northern Ireland the Strathclyde Police Band A video of the Strathclyde Police Inverary Pipe Band Vale of Atholl Tuning up The wonderful view from the Rest and Be Thankful The pier at Inverary on Loch Fyne Meeting an old friend at Loch Fyne Whiskies in Inverary, its Hamish of the Isle, the Greeter and Iconic man
the final pic is of me at Crianlarich Railway Station with the snow capped Ben More in the background

Jimmy, I was looking out for you at the Worlds in Glasgow last year but I didn't see you. I'm glad you had a great day in Dumbarton, great pictures. I've been here too: Came away with a wonderful Springbank 10. T'was heaven in a bottle as I recall.

I was looking for any x markers at Dumbarton but did not see anyone I recognised, may see you at the Worlds in August
I was hoping you'd post some photos. Very enjoyable, and the video was an unexpected delight. Thanks for making the effort.
