Houston this Sunday
Tattoo Bradley is in town from New Mexico, so there's a good excuse to get some of the rabble together!
Let's have a brunch on this Sunday morning, Sept.30th, about 11:30 am, at Brian O'Neill's in the Rice Village. http://www.brianoneills.com/modules/....php?pagenum=3
O'Neill's is a great place, kilt and family friendly, with the best pub grub in Houston. So come on over, good times and food will be the order of the day. There is also a British/Celtic shop a short stroll from there, we can terrorize the locals with a little after meal walk!

Houston, Free Celtic music show Nov. 4th
Irish Aires Line-up for Miller Outdoor Theater 11/04/07
Irish Aires is presenting this show at Miller Outdoor Theatre as
a part of KPFT's Fall Concert series of shows in Hermann
Park. Admission is FREE.
Constant Billy 4:00PM
Though often lumped for convenience in the Celtic category,
Houston's Constant Billy is more accurately described as
pan-British folk. Irish, Scottish and Welsh tunes
constitute just a fraction of their repertoire; they work
in old English ballads and sea shanties as well. How many
other Celtic bands have mastered tunes of the Channel
Islands, those forgotten British bailiwicks off the coast
of France known today only to the super-rich as tax havens?
Bill Galbraith's hilarious between-songs banter can bring
you out of the dumps of even the bloodiest Scots 1001-5100-
2300-1303-7239-2410-81105border ballad.

O'Maoileidigh School of Irish Dance 4:45PM
We are a dedicated school of Irish dancers of all ages. Our
certified teacher (TCRG), Colm O'Maoileidigh (pronounced O-
Ma-Lady) has been teaching in Texas since 1982. Starting as
young as age five, our dancers learn and practice the
traditional craft of step and ceili dancing on a weekly
basis. We perform as a dance troupe at events throughout
Texas. Members of our school have participated in
competitions (feiseanna) throughout the United States

Flying Fish Sailors 5:15PM
From their name to their repertoire, historical nautical
themes permeate all that the Flying Fish Sailors do. Each
of their albums features a sea shanty or four, and even
shanties about such landlubberly subjects as mowing the
lawn, and U-Haul trucks. (If you ask them nicely, they’ll
don "pseudo-pirate" attire for a gig.)
Guitarist Jay Lee fondly recalls playing a set on the tall
ship Elissa in Galveston — "When we would do the sea
shanties, the volunteers on the Elissa knew the words and
they would sing along, and it was really cool," he
remembers. So far, that’s been their only show on the briny
deep, but they’ve played hundreds of gigs on land. "We’ve
laid siege to every place from the Red Lion to the Mucky
Duck and boarded many a bar," Lee says. As the Sea Captain
on The Simpsons might put it, "Arrr, this be the yarrest
band thar be"

Thanks Zardoz for keeping our meeting on the list...I was thinking of taking my Mother to the Hoston Burns Supper, but I don't see where there are any more tickets available...Anyway, we'll see you at the Tilted Kilt on the 10th for sure.
