Southeast Scottish Amatures Atheletes
Hey guys,
Is there anyone out that can point to a contact for Scottish games orginizations? I would love to start training and compete at the 2 different Highland-fests we have in Georgia. I used to throw shot put in High School and in the Army. I would love to train for this..hehe!

These will point you in the right direction, and both sites have forums so you can find others in your area to practice with, and get game information.
Enjoy!!!

I'll also pass along some good advice given to me by a pro when I asked what I could do to improve my weight over bar.
"Throw higher."

And there is the Southeastern Highlands Athletic Group. Their website is:http://www.shagagain.com
Mike Gordon runs this group and he is the AD for Loch Hartwell games.

This sounds like fun but where to start? I have seen these events before but have no idea how to or where to, etc. I need some novice training. Or do you go and "just do it"?

Contact the athletic director at any local games you are interested in and ask. They usually have a novice group and love having new people show up to compete. Also they will often have a clinic before the games where you can learn the basics and get help on the techniques.
Most importantly, show up and have fun!
