Unique Event at Alaska Highland Games
This picture was shared by Matt Vincent after he won the IHGF World Championship (Congratulations Matt!):

I didn't witness this event, but evidently they threw the 50lb salmon for distance and for height. Throwing fish is a traditional Alaskan event, but it is usually done in winter and while standing on ice.
A friend of mine, Carl Hild, sculpted the first place trophy from Alaskan Marble:

The 2nd and 3rd place trophies are cast aluminum finished in silver and bronze. Bill Kazmeir, Words Strongest Man, was the hand model for the trophy, and he was a guest announcer for the games.
I definitely enjoyed the games this year, but did not take many pictures.
