Ventura Highland Games
I didn't see a mention of it here, so I thought I'd post that I'm here in Ventura attending the Games here.
With our East Coast having so much terrible weather I'm thankful that it was warm and sunny here yesterday. A bit warm in the sun yes, big hats a sun-block are the norm.
Today (Sunday) is supposed to be a bit cooler.
Any fellow X-Markers in attendance? One for sure, a self-described "lurker"

I hardly took any pics, and the few I took didn't come out very good (crummy camera phone).
Our band was so busy, each day opening ceremony, playing for the Drum Major competition, playing in competition, and closing ceremony (with practicing and tuning in between) that I didn't have much time for walking around and checking out the Games in general.
Hopefully some other XMarkers who were there will chime in with pics!

You're description had me in mind of that old American song, 'Ventura Highway.' Sing along now: "Ventura Highway, in the sunshine, where the days are longer,..." etc. etc. Maybe change it to Ventura Highland? Give us a bit of the play-by-play, if you get a chance.
