The Chelmsford (Mass.) Center for the Arts marked its inaugural fundraiser with an intimate gathering to celebrate Robert Burns' 251st birthday this past Sunday afternoon.
X Marks' own Blaxcot -- fresh from delivering the Immortal Memory at the New York Caledonian Club's Burns celebration the night before -- made the trek up from Manhattan (and back again!) to appear as the featured guest artist.
I took quite a lot of pictures -- some of which actually came out decently -- but haven't been home to upload them yet. In the meantime here are a couple of shots provided by Ruth Canonico, the event organizer and a fine musician and storyteller in her own right:
This first picture is of the semi-impromptu Address to the Haggis.
Mike (Blaxcot), with the haggis, dressed in his 18th Century finery. Brian Quirk (?) from the Sutherland Pipe Band piped in the haggis and graced us with a few tunes.
Mike is a dedicated Burnsian who happily performs his Burns "collaborations" -- and spreads the gospel of the Bard -- in the New York area and beyond.
More to come....
