2013 Dublin Irish Festival
Greetings,
Here are several photos (we wished we had taken more!) taken by my lovely bride, Stephanie, from the 2013 Dublin Irish Festival last weekend in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb near Columbus. The festival was really a first class event and was very well organised. Stephanie and I had a great time (despite some of the lines at various booths and vendors being extremely long, as well as the massive amount of people in attendance) and were amazed by the sheer size of the festival, the plethora of things to see and do, and of course, the variety of bands - from bagpipes to Celtic Rock - it was a fantastic day out and the weather was beautiful!

Kind regards,

Thanks for sharing. Looks like you had plenty of fun even with the crowd.

Very nicely turned out Kyle, I love the new Argyle and the tattersall shirt is top notch. I can't see you in the top two photos though, you are outshone by the lovely Stephanie.

Aye, we did have a lot of fun. Large crowds are to be expected at events of this nature, but we were totally caught off guard by the sheer size and amount of people in attendance! At times, it was quite difficult walking about. I'm certainly not complaining, just making an observation that a festival of this caliber and grand scale, is something Stephanie and I aren't entirely accustomed to. No worries, though...we may give it a go again next summer!

Thanks, Simon! As you stated, the Argyll jacket is indeed a new accessory to the ole' Heilan wardrobe (as is the kilt - Heavyweight, Macpherson Reproduction colours from D.C. Dalgliesh and made by our own resident kilt-maker, Barb Tewksbury), but the tattersall shirt I am wearing is 7 years old! See what I mean? I have stated before on this forum, that if you buy items that are well made and you take care of them properly, they will last you a long time. Aw yes, I'm always quite easily outshone by my lovely bride, and rightly so! I wouldn't have it any other way. She's my world.
Cheers,

I completely agree with you mate, that kilt is superb, I am a big fan of the reproduction colours, but then again I am getting old, so the more muted tones are not so much in your face. I know what you mean about buying quality, when I first started out my first kilt was an acrylic black watch, which now will probably never see the light of day again. It's a shame but as my knowledge of THCD has improved then I want the best I can afford. If I am going to look like a peacock then I want to be the best peacock I can be.
