And here are some pics and video from the women's caber toss. Two women were able to flip it on their last attempts to almost perfect 12:00 turns. Caber was 65 lbs, and 16' long. A funny story about that, we were watching the caber toss, and Farquhar was texting me to try and meet up and he asked me where I was, so I told him by the athletic fields, and meant to say watching the caber toss. However, my phone thought we were at a different event, and auto corrected it to the "cabernet toss"! However, that is a completely different event!
You can see the caber standing up here for the next competitor and the group of women competing. Notice the gentleman in the red tartan outfit. Not sure what that was. From the front it had a deep v-neck, and was almost like pajamas or a onesie. The cowboy hat was a nice touch.

Didn't get a turn on this one, she lost control of it when starting to move forward, but she muscled it up to that high an angle.

And here is the City of Sarasota Pipe Band competing. I videoed them as my nephew is a piper with them. He is the piper past the bass drum, and I zoom in on him a bit. Notice the tartan the band uses for its' kilts? That is the same tartan I wore to the games! So I walked around and said I was with the band!

Playing High Road to Gairloch.
Fairly typical smashed bands - ranks a bit disorganized, drum sections trailing all over. I'm a bit surprised the Drum Major didn't try to get things evened out so that the bass drums were all lined up. Still, they sounded pretty good. Your mic has a good bass response.
Sounds like the Sarasota PB has a pretty good medley for a Grade 4. They made some good transitions and have nice harmonies. Pretty good tone as well.

And finally, myself, unclenevus, Farquhar, and his better half. Great to meet up with you all. Also managed to catch up to HippieLee, but alas, no pictures.

And finally, some video of the women's caber toss, although from my phone, so the quality is a bit poor, and you can see I was more interested in watching the event, than videoing it!

The ranks were a bit disorganized, and my nephew was appalled at the lack of marching ability of most of the people in the bands, including his own. Of course, he went to a 4 year military school, so he knows how to march. When they were doing the counter column turn arounds at each end of the field and you had to pass back between two columns of people going the other direction, he held his pipes out in front of him to protect them.
