2017-47th Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Pics
Last week's parade was another weather fine one. It was great seeing kin, kith and Xmarkers. Once I get my unit assembled I slip to a viewing spot to take photos of the units till my mine shows up. I then fall in and take pics of the crowd along the way. Once I get to end I store my banners and take photos of the parade till it ends.
This year my unit Clan MacCallum Malcolm was assigned one block up from past years. So, we were further up in the parade order. This year the organizers only gave me notice of my unit's placement and not a list of all participating units. There seemed to me to be more non-Scottish units (volunteer organizations & businesses) and fewer Scottish units. Of the Scottish units they seemed more sparse with attendees than prior years. Maybe, yes maybe no. In the last few years the organizers charge us a fee to march which once was free. But I digress.
Pre-parade meet-up of Xmarkers:
L to R: Ralph Wallace, duke19 62 (Gary Neil). MC, Holcombe Thomas, Geoff Withnell

A big thank you to Holcombe and Paul Fine who manned the two man banner
