Dr Who, Oscar Wilde, kilts and Charles Dickens?
Dickens was portrayed as a character in Dr Who and it has had a regular kilted character in the past, but Oscar Wilde?

Surely people should be dressed as Uriah Heep, Sir Tite Barnacle and Miss Haversham etc etc?

    Nice photos anyway.

which characters were there. There are probably a little over 100. I did see Miss Haversham and Uriah. Morley and human characters from a Christmas Carol put on scenes. I didn't attend the other scenes. I basically go to hear Dickens and poe and several bands. There usually is a kilted stilt walker. He came this year but did music hall performances. They do a basically grand jury trial of Jack the Ripper to determine who he was where the spectators act as the jury . They do many scenes and readings in costumes from the various literature and the authors are those from the Victorian era including americans such as Edgar Allen Poe (my favorite and an incredible actor). The tartus is there because there is a contingent of Steampunkers. I've tried to get them to do scenes from the opera Patience which was Gilbert and Sullivan's treatment of the esthetic movement and Oscar Wilde. Tesla and Edison debated their histories which was e
    nteretaining.

I see that Grizz was able to charm his way into royal court and bestowed special favors. It must be nice to have such an "ice-breaker" at hand. Looks to be a fun time.

"Oscar Wilde" is an acquaintance of mine, and I've yet to attend the Dickens Festival. I'm glad you and your family were able to go and have an enjoyable time!
