Aberdeen Highland Games
I've been going to this for the last few years, it's around 4 hours drive north from where I live. My wife Marie gets the opportunity to see her parents at this also.
A photo essay:
Marie waiting with the mutts Deety and Chili:

Representing the McFarlanes in the parade (my wifes family name is McFarlane):

Others waiting to begin:

The busy town of Aberdeen cant wait for it to start either:

The first band:

And the first band to get there:

Showing the colours:

Part 2 to follow

Part 2
Just watching:

Best dressed dog prize was won by this little fella in his Prince Charlie

For entertainment, there were bands all day, lots of dance displays, the games themselves (too organised in my opinion, its not an open competition, just the same people every time and the comentator should do wrestling matches). And music! Chris Duncan and Catherine Strutt were there:

My look for the day(taken at the end of the day):

Kilt by Gold Brothers, retailored jacket by me, Eastern Grey Kangaroo sporran by me also. I was nominated to enter the best dressed laddie of the day comp but was out on the first round This was the jackets first outing, although it was done quite a while ago. After losing some weight, its fitting much better now.
Marie at the end of the day:

After the Ceilidh that night:

The eBay Prince Charlie arrived only two days before and fit perfectly, so this was its first outing too.
Next years Aberdeen Games is the tenth and they are making a huge effort to make it bigger and better. I'll be back.

Great to see the action from 'down under'.
