after the Yule Log ceremony..Merry Christmas!!
Ok, so every year at 99:30 pm on Christmas Eve, I get to pipe the pig, pudding, and Yule log in at the Resort that I play at every night (7 nights a week). so I finally got (almost all of my uniform for this year done. Earlier in the year I had been searching for info on my Grandfather's (who turned 93 this year) two half brothers that severd in a british/scottish regiment during WWI. I was able to find them and their service records and finally uncover what regiment they were in: 2/10th Battalion (Scottish) King's Liverpool Regiment, also later known as the Liverpool Scottish. This uniform is based on the WWII uniform worn by the 1st Bn Liverpool scottish who were attached to No.4 Independent Company who performed raids in Norway in 1940...If you can notise the shoulder patch of the No.4 on the 55th Infantry Div Patch. ANYHOOOOOOO...sorry for the history lesson...I got everything in EXCEPT the new Sporran badge, and of course I dont have a Forbes Tartan kilt as worn by the regiment, so I wore my Matt Newsome special in the Modern Ancient (oxymoron) Fraser out of respect for my Step-Father who got me into all of this.
Ok so here are the pics....
The first one is the best out of the lot...I think:

This is the second best showing the pipers insignia:

And finally the cap badge that I put on my crossbelt..It is the WWI version that would have been worn my my two Great Half uncles:

Thanks for looking and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Cheers,
Chad

Chad, you have done a wonderful job on your ensemble. You look great and do your family proud. My great uncle James Robertson was with the Kings Liverpool Regiment (not the Scottish battalion) from 1917 – 1950.
On EBay last year I picked up this cap badge.

Mael,
That's great! I am still learning about the regiment as a whole. I have been in touch with a gentleman named Ian who has taken over what is left of the Liverpool Scottish museum in Liverpool. What you have there is a WWII badge, 1937 to 1963 (?) which is what I am wearing in my glen.. The Liverpool Scottish were officially affiliated with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders in 1922, and in 1937 they were transferred in their regiment as the 1st and 2nd Bns Liverpool Scottish, Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. They were under the 55th Infantry Division (just like during WWI) and provided replacements for the Camerons, but never saw overseas action as a whole, except for those that were part no.4 independent company....the predecessors to the commando units.
I am putting together a WWI uniform for my everyday wear during the winter when I go out and play. Ill post pics when I get it done.
Cheers, and thanks for the comments!!
Chad

what a great inspiration!
I've been looking into getting a similar outfit for when I start piping, as opposed to the more 'traditional' piper uniform, and this vision of you in WWII piper regalia is a treat.
very well put together outfit and simply a stunner, anyone not being afraid of a battalion of kilted soldiers looking anything like you od is either blind or wearing a better uniform.
cheers and thanks for the great photos.
