My son, his wife and I flew to cleveland and then drove to Erie PA so he could compete in the National semi[finals for strongman corp. He was competing for the first time there against the 66 heavyweights who who had won regional compitions so he was excited to see how he'd do. On the drive we stopped at the home of James Garfield. I hadn't know much about him except he was assassinated and died 6 months into his presidency. Until I read an biography and was deeply moved by what an incredible man he was and the life he lived. He had a lasting effect on the country because of the power of his oritory and his death unifird the country enabling his policies to be put in place.
Maybe of greatest importance erie ruined all other chocolates for me as we stopped at Romolo's and tasted what chocolate was meant to taste like for tghe first time in my life.
Cameron placed 45 which was dissappointing to him as he hoped he'd be in the 30 but a mistake on the log press cost him that.
There were 2 kilted competitors. I took a picture of one who competed in the same time as Cameron but met the other as we were leaving who competed in the second time slots.
Cameron at the airport in cleveland. the birthplace of supperman.
My son and his wife at the Garfield national monument
Me and Cameron along Lake Erie (man it was cold. I haven't been cold in 20 years living in southern California)

Carrying the 300 pound stone
The other competitor at 260 and under
If anyone is interested I did videos more han pictures (really rotten lighting at the venue) These are the links to some of his other lifts. Unfortunately I didn't get them all as I rarely use the video on my camera and blew 2 of the events.
