Ancient Macdonald of Kingsburgh
Was out walking today and tried a selfie stick pic. Now oversized jacket makes it look like I still have a beer belly. 'tis gone

Kingsburgh is 5 miles south of Uig, Skye where my Viking ancestors first settled. Kilt is hand sewn by Kathy Lare.
Wore it for an hour's walk with no belt or sporran. Kilt straps held it up well.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

What a lovely tartan!
You look great. Funny how leather moulds to your form, and remembers it after it's changed!

Looking great, is this a new kilt for your new size or did you get the straps moved? You had such an extensive collection before that I'm not sure.

This is my first hand sewn in my "new" size....lost more...wearing it at the tightest straps.
Sold/donated some of my other hand sewn's. Sent my first back of the remaining "too big" handsewns to have the straps moved for resizing to see how that looks. IF - that works I'll send the others back too.
So, we'll see.

MacDonald of Kingsburgh? That looks a lot like the Nelson tartan, (the Willie Nelson tartan.) You look great! Congratulations on your weight loss!
Cheers,

As an aside, I have a short run being done in the setting and shades matched to the original specimen. It looks quite different.
