    Andy hits the ceilidh!

No dancing pics I am afraid, when I was on vacation last week the resort we were in had a ceilidh - strangely I was the only person kilted but it went down well. Here is a shot of me and my girlfriend Beth.

I got new pipers hose a few weeks ago and I really dig them.

A nice pic, Andy - both of you looking good. What a nice touch also to have the carpet colour co-ordinated with the kilt. Very thoughtful of the establishment's management!!

No kilts in this one but I may just have found my very own heaven. I have been getting into real ale recently and paid a visit to the Black Isle Brewery whose ales I have been enjoying. Heres a shot of the shed they call home.

Sorry this doesn't have any bearing on the title of the thread but thought I would shove this last one on here instead of creating a new thread just for some holiday pics (with no kilts).

Well, while we're hijacking the thread, Andy, did you ever wear your kilt in Japan? What kind of reactions did you get? Any photos from there?

    Fantastic! I didn't notice that.

Beth enjoyed her first ceilidh, she's from Illinois and just moved here. Sadly my dancing just isn't up to scratch.

Digging a little back in my history I remember this thread.

I'm sure I have others on my hard drives but I need to dig them out and get them online. Life seems to have been non stop since I got home in April. AND it's back to school tomorrow - where did my 5 1/2 weeks go?

Oops!!!!!!!!! How could I forget my best friend's wedding? Here's two pics from that, I was wearing virtually the same outfit except for my then new blue mink dress sporran. My mum forgot to get my dress belt (which I now have) so it's paired with my cavscout belt. I hope it doesn't look too weird - probably why I never shared them before.

    Anyway, here are the pics:

    The bride (Tomomi) and I

The groom (my friend Jim) and I

The kilt went down a storm in Japan. I wore it to the mall one day and got even more stares than usual! My (Japanese) friends were a danger when they were drunk too - always wanting to look underneath!!!!!!!!!!! It was all great natured though.

Those are cool, thanks. My long-time best friend / crush is going to Japan in '08 to teach English, and we've talked about me coming over to visit. (I was born in Japan, and haven't been back in 37 years... it's time!) I'm thinking I'll probably take kilts to wear while I'm there.
