At Battlefield Band concert, San Diego 11/5/11

We met up with Seanachie (Joe) and his wife Kathy as well as Calico (David) and Jan to enjoy Battlefield Band concert in our local concert series, AMSD Concerts. There were at least three other kilted attendees, one older gent in a Sportkilt, a fellow in a Utilikilt (or the like) and a very nicely dressed man with a green Argyll jacket and tie.

Here's Bob in his Leatherneck casual and Joe in Highland Cathedral (IIRC).


Another woman in line offered to take our photo, so I can't be faulted (this time) for it being out of focus!


Jan had just finished this lovely gown. David will have to supply the name of his tartan but I believe he also made his garment (?).


The band was fabulous, full of talent and energy despite this being their last U.S. stop on a long tour. They had the old church rocking and reeling! Be sure to catch their act if they come your way in future. Here is a YouTube link to some of their performances.

Well done, TheBrus, it is indeed Clan Cian that I am wearing. Along with an Artificer customer sporran.

And yes, that is the first kilt I've made for myself. I bought my first kilt in California District tartan, then took Elsie's class and made this one.

And a great time was had by all!
