Well done, Derek, Elaine and the committee members - I know from experience in previous years how much work you all put in to make these events so successful. I just wish I could have been there, even if only to have swept the hall floor again!! Sadly, I knew I would not be able to make it this year, but am already looking forward to next (if you'll have me!)
My 'Best' to everyone at the club who remembers me.
Take care,
Ham.

Hi Ham. I know we have spoken on the telephone many times these past several weeks but its great to see you back here at X Marks. As regards the festival. Your presence at this years event was greatly missed. We tidied the hall up as best we could after, but I fear it may not be to the such high standards that you would have done it yourself. Next year the parish council will be delighted to know the hall clean up is back in your most capable hands.

Dont tell anyone but when Ham has done this clean up he does expect us to give him full after festival hospitality

Speak to you again tonight Ham

Super pics, Derek, looks like a fun time. Hopefully I may be able to join all the xmarkers at next year's event.

Looks like a great time had by all. Thanks for sharing.
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

Alex ... It will be great if you are able to join us all next year. It would be fab to meet you again and any others xmarkers who would like to come along. All our folk club and festival dates for next year will be finalised today. So I will post the fest date up later.
Castledangerous ... the tartan in the pic is called 'Monarch of the Glen'. Here a closer pic of it

We just finalised the festival monies ... We managed to raise £1200 towards the Halls new roof.
