Birthday Thanks from Ham.
This may have to be brief as my PC is still playing up, but I just HAD to say a massive "Thank You" for all the wonderful, and very touching Birthday messages that almost 50 of you guys sent me by one means or another. It was just an amazing weekend, and I am truly grateful. So: from the innermost ventricles of my heart I thank you all!
One mystery remains, however: on my Birthday Eve, the postman delivered an enormous box from which, when it was opened, three large balloons shot out - one bearing the message: "It's not the AGE, it's the ATTITUDE!" The accompanying gift card simply read: "Happy Birthday Ham from all of us at X Marks". Now, what I should like to know is, who was responsible for THAT? I need them to come round, not only to thank them personally but also for them to help me get out of the carpet the remainder of the tiny, multicoloured, glitter stars and hearts that shot all over my siting room when I opened that box. It'll take me weeks of vacuuming to get them all up!! So, come on, own up whoever you are!
My pics are still not being resized by Photobucket, but here's one of those balloons, taken after I staggered home from a fantastic lunch given me by five of my neighbours, AND a Birthday Cake and Champagne reception at one of their homes afterwards. Excuse the unforgiveable state of the hose on my left leg - it looks like I'd been dragged through a hedge, but I don't recall any of those dear ladies getting that frisky!!

And here are those 'dear ladies' entertaining me to lunch in a very expensive restaurant a mile or two away:

I have some photos from the Harpenden Highland Gathering also, but they'll have to wait until I can get my computer act together, maybe in ten days time when a computer-literate friend comes to stay - sorry!
Thanks again to everyone.

The "Hose Problem" was probably a result from your surprise at the balloons and such.
Glad it was a good day!

Congratulations! It looks like you're having a splendid time. One Ham + Five (I counted) ladies = 4 gentlemen eating alone. It's good to be Hamish!

I've often heard the expression "it knocked my socks off", but this is the first time I've seen it demonstrated in pics.
Glad you had a great day, Ham! I wish you many, many more.

Ok - at least we know you survived your birthday - and much more than just survived, it looks like you were celebrated in fine fashion! I do feel like sending your computer a get well card - your presence here is sorely missed!

Ham,
We're glad your birthday went well. And I'm sure we can find a wee kilted vacuum cleaner to help with the mess.

First of all of course HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAMISH !!
Have you checked to see if the fan on your cpu is operating?
With the excessive heat, one quick fix is to remove the cover and set up a household fan to vent heat. Just an idea.
