Black Xkilt for a square dancer
In the traditional square dance world, the square dance attire is: the gents wear long -sleeved shirts, slacks and bolo-tie or a square dance scarf; the ladies in crinoline petticoats or skirts. Here's a sample:

In my non-traditional square dance world, it could be anything!
Here's one. It is the inverted situation : the gent in a kilt and the lady in pants.
Husband and wife goofing off.

They are my friends. The black kilt was made by yours truly: an X-kilt in black cotton twill. She bought it as a birthday gift for him and it's his first kilt
The back side view:

I'll post more pictures of the construction of this xkilt in the DIY section soon.

Oh! Well, she seems to be enjoying it as much as he does. Well done!

Rex.

You've been busy, Mein.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Yes, been very busy lately...
Square Dancing is becoming a significant activity for me:
Let me share a couple of YouTube videos that I took of the international convention that happened in DC recently.
This one is a "hot hash" square dancing -- the calling is stacked and fast and the dancing is also fast. Not for the newbie or faint of heart. Dancers' reaction time to the call has to be fast and there is no time to think of the call. You just do it. This is not your gramps' square dancing.
IT's a blast to dance! Listen to the verbal/physical responses from the dancers.
Yours truly is kilted.
We have a session where everybody's kilted. It's like kilt-paradise there. (sadly no video taken)...

I would be nervious to go squaredancing in a kilt. Have to make sure it was a heavy one and make sure I was non-traditional.
