Bridgeport WV 7 May 2011
I had a lovely day, and nicest of all was meeting some wonderful XMarkers! (Which sorry to say I don't have a photo of.)
I'll post a few photos quickly before I run off to work. More to follow!

Very nice photos. The pics of the young lad brought a smile to my face. Thanks.

I got top attend these games, finally, and meet Richard.......had a wonderful time chatting with him. Too bad the time was short. Hope to see him there next year, too.
Also, I got to meet John Grant, the designer of the West Virginia tartan. Wow, pics do not do this tartan justice. You gotta see it up close and personal.
I have a few pic from Bridgeport, also, and will, hopefully, get them on the forum tonight.

Here are a few additions to the Bridgeport, WV games. Had a marvelous time there, and meeting OC Richard, who came the whole way from California.

John Grant, the designer of this beautiful West Virginia tartan. Have to see it in person, as pics do it no justice

And, of course, there has to be a Highland dog at every games

Great pictures. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the Bridgeport games this year. A question: Did you happen to see Davey Morrison? He's a former member of Albannach who resides in Clarksburg.

Here are some more!
a solo competitor in the morning with a nice overview of the Games

the same competitor, the judge intently listening (well I hope that's what it is... )
This judge also judged the bands later.

Here's the booth promoting the West Virginia tartan. They only had it in a rather light weight, perhaps 9oz or 10oz, and were selling neckties, scarves, and yardage. The flag at the upper right is the West Virginia flag, unique amongst our 50 state flags as being the only one white with a blue border.

Here's a closeup of the scarf they had hanging up, giving a clear view of this tartan

For comparison, here's the c1820 tartan of the original relic

Here's a fiddler wearing a West Virginia kilt

a Celtic Rock band... note the WVU shirt on the far right!
