I have the use of the 'plane this weekend so Mike and I went to Caernarfon today. The bridges over the Menai Strait between mainland Wales and the Isle of Anglesey. Caernarfon, with the Castle standing behind the harbour. I will post some closer view of the castle in a few minutes. Our 'plane at Caernarfon Airport. With airports on high security alert I reluctantly decided on a non-kilted day today. Wore my Black Watch for duty at the aviation museum yesterday so I knew kilt would be OK at Carlisle Airport but wasn't sure what to expect at Caernarfon. We caught the Welsh Highland Railway train up into Snowdonia. The train went up past Quellyn Lake To Rhyd Ddu Offering views of the Snowdon Mountain range.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.
Then we went into Caernarfon and had a look around the town and the castle. Part of the town is within the walls. The castle stands proud beside the harbour. Its a muckle castle. With muckle towers. Derek will ken whether its maybe the biggest castle in Wales.

Great pics, the scenery there is great. Thanks for posting them.
Fabulous pictures. I can't be sure if it is the largest castle in Wales, I've a feeling that could be Chepstow Castle ... I would have to check. For anyone who would like to know more about the castles of Wales this is a great site www.castlewales.com/home.html Iechyd Da Derek
