Last Sat we spent several hours just chilling at Caerphillys Big Cheese Weekend. Its a fab festival held over the fri sat n sun. There is everything there from two music stages, hundreds of craft stalls, loads of animals and lots of encampments with medieval fighting etc and lots of birds of prey doing flying exhibitions. Lots of bars there too, but this year when we arrived we sat on a lovely green mound overlooking some of the event and there was a music stage doing folk/acoustic bands etc very close ... so we spent our time absorbing and watching the world go by.
As soon as we arrived this lady from India who was visiting ask if she could take a pic. We obliged and then I ask her to take one with my camera.
Then we went to a tent close by that had some interesting bikes inside. Not quite cilt/kilt friendly if think
Then we took to our mound and watched it all from distance listening to some fab music, one band of which we have booked for our folk festival in sept
A few hours later we got ourselves together and decided to give a walk around the whole event a miss this year. It takes a few hours to get around it all. We were all so chilled n lazy we decided to walk a hundred yards or so to our little haunt instead. It was really full outside
Found a seat inside though. Its really an old pub and its where they used to make Caerphilly Cheese centuries ago
The guest beer was Adnams Broadside. And very nice too.
That’s it
