Calgary's first kilt night!
Only one pic from this evening...it was -20C (-4F)outside and we didn't want to spend too much time out there. LOL
My wife Karen and I had a GREAT time meeting Mark (aka Jazzkilt) tonight. Interesting conversation, good food, plus a couple of Irish coffees and/or hot chocolate with Bailey's made for a very entertaining evening.
Hopefully the next kilt night will be on a warmer day.

Wow! That was fast! I had a great time tonight, too. Looking foward to the next time. Maybe I can get all those people who wanted to come with me to actually show up! :P

Gosh, Jazz Man, is that a ... a Suede Pittsburgh Kilt? It looks great! Every man should have one.
Nice Black Watch, Al. Who made that one? (Here's some unsolicited advice: You might be warmer with thicker hose. Those guys look awfully thin.)

Jazz... dude... that kilt KICKS!
The more I see them, the more I KNOW that I've got to start investing in some solids!

Jazz's kilt looked fantastic in person, too. Might have to get something like that myself.
Thanks! The Black Watch is a 4-yd Bear Kilt. A bit thin (like the hose) for the temps we had last night, but for the most part I wasn't very cold. An 8-yd would be warmer for sure.
The "hose" are just soccer socks. The only proper kilt hose I have are cream ones and they didn't look right with the dark sweater I was wearing.

You sure have to love the techical age! I had the pic up within a few minutes of arriving home. Took a bit longer for my fingers to thaw out, though. Being the "macho" guy that I am (yeah, right ), I left my gloves and hat in the car. It's amazing how cold a steering wheel can get in sub-zero temps.
I'm definitely looking forward to your next visit. As you say, hopefully we can get a few more people to come out.

Wow, looks like a wonderful time, cold weather and all! You both look nice and toasty.

I'd agree with you, but then I wouldn't be "special"
Man! I'm a Southerner and have had enough trouble getting used to winters in NY and Boston, now I come to Calgary every year and get my butt kicked (weather-wise) all over again. UB, do all your PK's pull on the front apron like that? Or is that just a kilt design thing? Anyone have any ideas?

Yup. I guess they're just designed that way.
