The Salt Lake Valley is bordered on the East by the Wasatch Mountains. Extending 160 miles from the Idaho border south into Central Utah. From anywhere in the populated area you can be in the mountains in just a few minutes. I have lived in rural areas where the best hiking trails were over an hour away. Not so from our little home in Northern Utah, eight minutes to the trailhead then three hours of what I call urban wilderness. Due to the heavily populated area these trails are well used and cared for. I also enjoy the social aspect of urban wilderness hiking, between the kilt and Santa’s beard there is always someone to visit with, and something to talk about See you on the Trail.

Lookin' good Matty! Nice pictures. Inviting trail. Beautiful scenery. No buffalo. No kidding. Thanks for posting.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
Thanks for the pictures, Matty. I was hiking these trails this afternoon, while wearing a green UK kilt. BKPowell of the Northern Utah Highlands
