    Castle under seige

Heres some pics from the firework display at Caerphilly Castle.
It is a very large castle and surrounded by a very large moat. There were several thousand people there totally surrounding the castle.
    9 of our gang went.
Waiting for the start of the seige

    The setting

Then the castle was suddenly under massive attack ... it was one of the best firework displays I have ever seen and was constant for 30mins

Great pics, Derek, but what was the occasion, Guy Fawkes night is not until Wednesday, or do you celebrate it earlier in Wales?

Fireworks are notoriously difficult to photograph but you got some great patterns and colours there Derek.

Guess it must have been a Halloween rather than a Guy Fawkes event.

It was Guy Fawkes they were cellebrating. Both Caerphilly and Cardiff put on a firework display on the nearest sat before 5th. Simply because it encourages the maximum number of spectators. Theres also a fun fair and music stages with bands playing etc .. and parents don't have to worry about the kids having a late night cos there no school on sun.

Nothing beats a good, hearty blast of fireworks...I never get tired of them and we're lucky enough to have a mayor who thinks that every event should be punctuated by fireworks. That display sounds like something that would be worth traveling to see...is it an annual event, by any chance?

I recognize you, Derek, but who are the two eskimos standing next to you?

We try to at least make some mention of Guy Fawkes in these here parts but nobody gets the historical allusion...even after V for Vendetta...
