Casual evening
Well, it's raining, but the big umbrella was up first, so at least one chair is dry.
This evening, I'm headed down to the local library. I volunteer with the "Cross-Cultural Learning Centre" and Wednesday evenings, I facilitate a drop-in discussion group for new Canadians to practise using their English in a programme we call "Conversation Circles".
One of my favourite participants just came back from Pakistan and brought me the gift of a beautiful long white shirt... but it's a shade small for my belly. How to not embarass her? Well, it's our last meeting until next autumn, so I'm headed out kilted!

If I were a new Canadian, I'd chat with you. That's a good relaxed (thus approachable) look and would put me at ease. I agree with McMurdo on the hose. Are they Bison color?

Looking good Father Bill .
Regarding the gift of the long sleeve shirt being a bit small ( not the shirt in the pic ) ... perhaps you could tell her something like this .... I am a man of the cloth , but sometimes the cloth doesn't fit the man .
Cheers , Mike

Well done FB! That is a very rewarding thing you volunteer for... My mother teaches conversational English and practical language reading to people at the local library for 35 years, she also helps them get ready to step from resident alien to citizen of the United States, she recently recieved a plaque from our state to commemorate her 200th citizen, I attended a recent citizenship ceremony in kilted daywear, the presiding judge afterwards asked about where one could procure a kilt, I handed him an ever-handy business card from usakilts and had a rather good conversation about the joys of wearing the kilt

Yes, they're one of my favourite pair - a fairly neutral colour with a wonderful knit pattern. They came from Matt Newsome at New House Highland, but sad to say, they were a clearance item in a discontinued line.
Similar knits may be available from various croft industry folks. The label below (front and back) came with a similar pair of green hose. You might try to track them down. I've obliterated the name of the individual knitter Mrs. L~ S~ on this hand-written label as you would not be working with her directly anyway.

I also spoke to a young friend who knits on the side. She offered to knit me a pair in claret, but that was a year and a half back, and so far she tells me she's knitted one sock in that time, but couldn't do the "seed knit" between the larger weave design. (Sigh!) You might be able to find somebody like that.
Finding really nice hose is always a challenge. Good luck!
