Chicago Kilt Night at the Duke of Perth
We had quite a few Xmarkers and a couple of spouses as well as Mike Knueppel and his wife from Chicago Men in Kilts and a co-worker of mine show up at the Duke of Perth for our kilt night tonight.
The picture below shows those who stayed to the bitter end. Tim Butterfield and his had already left which is too bad because Tim was resplendent in a new Xmarks kilt and Thorfinn sporran. Left to right we have tricam, Carlb, R.S.Buff (whose lovely wife graciously took the photo). Ben Rucker, a co-worker of mine who donned his kilt for only the second time, yours truly and my brother Turpin (of Thorfinn's Sporrans) who trekked up from Atlanta for the occasion).
Some other pictures were taken, and I hope they will be added to the thread.

Re: Chicago Kilt Night at the Duke of Perth
My wife took some quick snaps of me earlier for my kilt arrival thread. Here is an image from that thread of what I was wearing tonight:

My wife and I got stopped on the way out by a trio at one of the tables. They liked the look of the kilt and were wondering if there was an event or something and then whether I was a piper. I explained there was no special event and that I was neither a piper nor even Scottish. I just enjoyed wearing the kilt. The gentleman seemed interested any may investigate further.

That sounds like a fun evening. Will you be "trekking down to Atlanta" for the Stone Mtn. games?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Well, Turpin will certainly be at the Stone Mountain games. Unfortunately, October is a busy month for me.

Great looking group. It would be nice to have a kilt night with multiple kilties. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Lots of fun. Thanks to all. I had a great time, and learned a ton from the discussion around the table over some good whisky.

Re: Chicago Kilt Night at the Duke of Perth
Do you Chicago gents do kilt night often? Once I get my skirt in, I'd love to pop down and join (of course if it's open for us to crash in and join. lol. Don't want to invite myself)
By the way, you all looked wonderful. The gentleman on the far left looks great with a simple sweater and kilt (untucked and looking awesome!) I love that look. I noticed a lot of you are doning the sweater with kilt look My fav.

Meghan, we have occasional nights, this one at the request of an out-of-town guest. There's also a FB group called Chicago Men in Kilts that meets about monthly. If you sign up in Social Groups for the Chicago Kilted group we'll PM you when there's a kilt night.
