I take a bunch of the pictures I have shot during the year and make a photo calendar for my family members. They have to act like they enjoy it.

I do something similar as well, I try and use a picture that relates to the month I'm using the picture for, mostly pics taken at the cabin up in the northwoods. And like you I expect the recipients to pretend to like it and to hang it up when we come to visit.
