Cincinnati Kilt Night at Nicholsons/La Sylphide

Here are some scenes from our modest gathering of X-markers and friends.

    Jack, the ever-present, friendly doorman

He identified the tartan as Moore/Muir - a family tartan.

    Arrogcow, Rex, and UtiliKris

Adam and Maureen in the lobby of the Jarson-Kaplan
theater following the performance of La Sylphide

UtiliKris and I had a great chat at the bar before Adam and Maureen arrived, and it was a pleasure to see the two of them again. I got a close-up look at Adam's impressively cavernous Freelander sporran for the first time, much to Maureen and Chris's amusement.

The kilts on stage at the ballet were on straight for the most part, but we have to keep in mind what I said in the other thread: ballets tend to tell stories through impressions, not, apparently, a slavish attention to details. I had hoped that the leads would be played by professionals, but that didn't turn out to be the case. There were some good performances by the kids, however, and you could tell they all worked hard to prepare.

    Regards,
    Rex in Cincinnati

It's great to hear everyone had a wonderful time. You all look sharp! I really like the "crail" paired with the turtleneck. BRILLIANT!

First time I had worn that together, wasn't sure it really worked. We had a good time both at the ballet and at nicholson's. I wish we could have made it earlier and more people could have attended.

We'll have to do it again soon.

The theatre and the bar are pretty nice venues. If its possible to add a bit of class to the affair, I think the kilts can do it.!

Nice looks all around, and looks like a good time was had by all. And OH seems to becoming a hot bed of kilt wearing!

Uh-oh, I think I found another tartan I like. I have a distinct feeling that this is going to become an expensive obsession. Y'all look great!
