City Christmas Party
We went to the Christmas party for the City of Prescott last night. We hadn't intended to go, but a co-worker of Red_Raven_Studios bought the tickets then couldn't use them. I was the only kilt present, and got lots of positive response and gave the website address to several guys. I was also introduced to the past-Chieftain for the Scots of Prescott (the guys who run the Highland Games in this area every spring). He was not in his kilt! He told us he'd have worn his if he knew someone else was wearing a kilt.
We ended up sitting at the same table as the Mayor of Prescott and his wife. I was next to his wife, and had a long conversation about kilts, Scottish culture and the Prescott games.
The food was ok, and the band was good. The only thing they had resembling scotch was Crown Royal, so I didn't do much drinking.
They had a photographer there taking pics, so we got one done...

Maybe the mayor will sign some law granting a kilt day on your city and finish it with a wonderful kilt night Just something to think about. Nice pics

Shoulda, woulda, coulda told him you wore the black Stewart in mourning for his kiltlessness.
Ya'd think Prescott would be a hotbed of kilts...couple a Celtic type bar venues right? Highland games every year right?
Maybe if SOMEONE in Prescott (hint, hint, hint) designed a "Prescott tartan" and got it officialized...maybe then....
Some green for the trees, some brown for the rodeo bull poo, some gray for the granite rocks, some more green for the money all the Californians are bringing in when they cash out over there and move to Prescott, some brick red for all the red tile roofs where the antelope used to play, some whisky color for Whiskey Row....
Are you listening Red Raven????
Should be plenty of supporters for the fabric run what with the local games supporters and all...
One kilt at a City of Prescott party? Are you sure you were in the right place??
And photoshop....need a photo of Junior Bonner kilted....

Since I'm not a full timer yet, I've done the same thing. Sometimes its so much easier to go with the crowd. And them I realize I shouldn't have. Oh well, that is starting to happen less often.

Maybe, but this guy is a city councilman, and the past-chieftain of the local Scottish society. Plus he has a rep for wearing his kilt to functions. People were actually surprised that he wasn't kilted. Anyway, I got an invite to the next meeting, so we'll see what happens.
