Clan Donald Southern Ontario and Friends Burns Supper
Clan Donald Southern Ontario held its first Burns Supper on January 24th at the Lionheart British Pub in Mississauga, Ontario, which is just outside of Toronto. There was a great turnout, the food was fantastic and attendees were enthusiastic about the overall experience!
My fellow Xmarker Glen Allardyce (McMurdo) recited Burns poems including Selkirk Grace, Ode to a Haggis, Ode to a Mouse, Tam O'Shanter and My love is a Red, Red Rose. Xmarker Lloyd Preston (Baker04) was our haggis bearer.
As clan commissioner, I emceed the affair and after the formal speaking portion was complete, I picked up my guitar and joined a fiddler and piano player to sing some Scottish folk music, including some classic Burns selections like MacPherson's Rant and A Man's a Man For A' That (Is There for Honest Poverty).
Here are some of my favourite shots:

Well done my Brothers.
This appears a classic, dare I say "traditional" Burns supper. Ours has morphed a bit more formal (alas).
You all look brilliant, particularly those highly polished shoes. Great show. Planning on seeing ya'll again in the early Spring.

Looks great, Lads! Sorry I wasn't able to make it but had to make an emergency trip to the Maritimes. Afraid it was a un-kilted Burns day for me this year.

Nathan,
You guys look great. It's nice to see a few pictures of you and Glen. Certainly looks like a good night. Perhaps a minor detail, but I really like your red waistcoat.
Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Terrific photos Nathan. You look like you had a great time.
Regret I couldn't make it, but no way I could convince Pearl to attend two Burns Suppers in one weekend.
The St. Andrew's Society Burns function on Friday night was a great success (they had a waiting list for cancellations!).
Cheers,
John

It was a good time indeed. We planned it pretty quickly actually so I'm chuffed it went off as well as it did!
