Confused on Facebook
On my public Facebook page (which is related to marketing as opposed to personal information) I have been befriended by 250 + all sorts of people from lady-boys in Peru through a selection from Ghana to a guy from Russia on whose page I cannot understand either a word or any of the letters; but it took an attractive young fair haired lady from London not to recognise a kilt! Below is an extract from the page.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Facebook is as confusing as any "quasi-dimension" can get. I have 55 friends on my personal page, 48 of those share my first and last name. There are 5 countries, both sexes, 4 races and ages from 13 months to 83 years old of those "friends." We just do it for the (sh*t and giggles) and understand the rules I set for the "page."
I think the marketing part of your page left you open for the "Bless her Heart" moment.
There are 48 "Happy Birthday" notices during the year for me and the others. The number of gifts and toasts to our health is lovely.

Oh wow.... and her surname is Scottish, from around the Pitenweem Fife area (ok I know has I have them in my family tree)
Given how popular Kilts are I'm really really surprised.
But remember the classic "huh! The Titanic was real? Not a movie?" On social media a while ago, I guess it's not that surprising

Well, if 48 of your friends share your first and last name, then you probably should start a group specifically just for them. As a novelty, I started the Mark Hendersons of the World group.

If these people are "friends" on your personal page you've had to accept their request to be your friend. My personal page was started in the early day s of FB for a buinsess conference to which I was invited. So my personal page has evolved into a mixture of personal friends and business relationships (originally accepted as friends). I have, however, met nearly all people among my (so called) friends.
I also run a few business "pages" where anyone can "Like" a page and receive updates. For example, my Photography page has 1,700+ fans. I also have a beach page with 18K fans but my new kilt page only has 66 followers (but will grow as I grow my new website).
If you are too busy to laugh, you are too busy.

Love the kilt! Don't worry, some people know full well it's a kilt and they are just trying to get a reaction. I just sent a friend request on FB
